I made a lot of mistakes when I started freelancing.
So I jotted down some points to help you, so that can avoid making these mistakes and start stronger.
Here’s a simple and doable roadmap:
1. Package your freelance services well
Never send the same template to your clients.
Create 3 diff packages – It will give them a chance to go through them and select one as per their budget and requirements
It automatically increases the conversion rate by 10x.
2. Networking
It doesn’t necessarily mean going out to events and hanging out with your people every weekend or so – which btw is not bad at all. Infact it’s good.
But you can also network with people through social media – send cold DMs, and emails, reach out to them, have conversations and you will eventually end up getting more work.
If not, you’ll make friends at least and become a part of their network- no downside at all.
3. Upskilling
You can only be a great freelancer when you upskill yourself as well. It’s important to stay relevant.
To deliver the best quality of work, you will have to consume more and learn it too.
So invest in courses and upskill.
4. Build your personal brand
I swear Building the personal brand has changed my life completely.
So do self-promote yourself at every step.
Do a job, do a side hustle, and do 100 other things but make sure you take 10-20 mins out every day in your schedule to work on your personal brand.
because it can change your life and help you get more exposure and recognition.
5. Hire people smarter than you
I have learned this recently that you should hire people smarter than you – people, who can take charge of the work and take loads off of you.
This will give you time to focus on the tasks that ACTUALLY matter.
Thanks for the read.
